Elsa Pataky was born on July 18, 1976 in Madrid, Spain. Her parents’ names are Jose Francisco Lafuente, a Spanish biochemist and Cristina Medianu Pataky, a Romanian publicist. She has a half brother who is younger than her and his name is Cristian Prieto. Her maternal grandmother’s name is Rosa Pataky.
Elsa completed her high school education at a local school in Spain but didn’t reveal much information about it.
