He is the youngest of the four children of her mother, Betty Sue Palmer, a waitress, and her father, John Christopher Depp, who was a civil engineer. The family settled in Miramar, Florida in 1970 and after 8 years in 1978 the parents separated. At the time his parents split, Depp was just 15 years old.
