William Patrick Spencer Gold, known professionally as Wilbur Soot, is a British musician, YouTube star, Twitch streamer, and best known as the frontman and editor of the YouTube channel ‘SootHouse’, and is also a social media personality. He also previously edited for JackSucksAtLife, an English reactor and gaming YouTuber better known for its variety of content.
Early life
Wilbur Soot was born on September 14, 1996, in London, England but grew up in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, England, United Kingdom. Not much information is available about his parents and siblings. He is of British nationality and Christian religion, of White Caucasian descent. Soot studied at Sussex Downs College, Lewes, and recently earned a bachelor’s degree in editing and post-production. He is also a graduate of the University of Oxford.

He once owned a YouTube channel called Minecraft and Donuts with a girl named Sophie. He has made many Minecraft videos with her on player-made maps. In May 2011, they uploaded their first video “Minecraft Puppet Test Part 1”. They invariably uploaded until “Will and Sophie Play: The Works | Part 2” where Sophie had to go to the hospital for an operation. So they stopped posting videos for 2 years. Wilbur later said in “I’m BACK! +An Apology” that she is fine but no longer appears in any videos. Since then, however, he has never uploaded to the channel again. He also ran another channel with Sophie called ALittleBritofWill, where he uploaded short films, vlogs, and music. Her channel has more than 3000 subscribers on YouTube with only a handful of videos posted. In April 2017, he was associated with the first SootHouse video titled “Bulgarian Real Estate,” in which he and Soot George mocked websites selling cheap houses in Eastern Europe. Consequently, he appeared in many of SootHouse’s other videos and is known as a leader. Although he released his first SootHouse video in 2017, he was previously active on YouTube, having uploaded several videos that have now been deleted. Currently, he mainly does live streams on the Twitch app and then uploads edited highlights to YouTube.
