Alvin Kamara is an American football running back who plays for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL. He played college football at the University of Alabama before being transferred to the University of Tennessee. He was later drafted by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was honored with the 2017 NFL Rookie of the Year and has remained the Pro Bowler in all four seasons of the NFL. He was also honored with the second place All-Pro Team twice. In 2020, Kamara became the second player in NFL history to hit six rushing touchdowns in a single game.
Alvin Kamara was born on July 25, 1995 to a Liberian mother. Alvin spent his childhood in Norcross, Georgia. He is one of the two children of his mother Adama Kamara. He performed while he was on the team and ran for 1,300 yards with 17 touchdowns as a junior in 2011. In 2012, as a senior, he rushed for 2,264 yards for 26 touchdowns, which led to the high school being nominated for the inaugural state championship. He was honored with Georgia’s Mr. Football by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
In addition, he was nominated to compete in the 2013 Under Armor All-America Game. While passing his high school, he was considered to be one of the best running backs going after clients across the nation. He was honored for being ranked #1 in all-purpose on 247Composite, #42 nationally in 2012, and #5 in Georgia.
He was also nominated #6 in Georgia by Rivals.com. When he was in high school, he received a scholarship offer from Syracuse University. As a senior, he signed on to play under Nick Saban’s head coach for the University of Alabama. Kamara received the highest Wonderlic Test score from running backs while part of the NFL Combine.
He also competed in Pro Day in Tennessee but later chose to only be on position routes.
