She selected the University of Texas offer over various offers from Minnesota, North Carolina and the state of Wichita. This is because she already had a plan to join Texas rather than choosing another team. She received the honor of being named an Academic All-District 3-6A Choice in both basketball and softball back in 2019.
Alyssa attended Abilene High School where she received her elementary education and pursued her gaming career including softball, powerlifting and basketball. Joining Texas has always been one of her dreams.

Before joining Texas and becoming part of the national softball team, Alyssa Washington was ranked 81st on the Extra Elite 100 Class of 2020 player rankings. Despite this, she was ranked 88th in FloSoftball’s Hot 100 ratings. She went on to pursue her career in three athletes, including softball, basketball, and powerlifting.
In 2019, during her junior campaign at Abilene High School, she had a career-best .567 with 55 hits, 38 runs made, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 48 RBIs, 16 stolen bases, and 15 HRs.
She even helped the team achieve first-team honors from the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) and third-team All-State honors from the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association (TXSWA).
Due to her outstanding performances in her junior season, she continues to be a maid of honor of a TGCA All-Star, as District 3-6A Offensive Player of the Year (for the second time), Offensive Player of the Year and Co-Most Valuable Player Pick, and a Big Country Preps Great lecturers.
Freshman Season (2021)
Alyssa Washington earned the unanimous pick for the Big 12 Conference All-Freshman team after hitting a career-best .255 with 5 extra-base hits, 3 HRs and 7 RBIs from 31 games played and 23 starts. On May 14, 2021, she hit a run 7-4 to claim the title of Big 12 championship win over Iowa State.
On May 2, 2021, she went 6-4 with one loss in the game against No. 11 Oklahoma State where Alyssa emerged as the singles winner on a record. During the March 12, 2021 game, she had two career-best runs, going 2-on-2, making a double and an HR for a 9-1 aggregate, causing a loss to Tarleton State.
On March 5, she had a solo HR during the 6th frame and posted an aggregate score of 8-5 against No. 5 LSU with a win held by Alyssa’s team. She made her first RBI career when she played Mississippi State on Feb. 27, and later had her first career in human resources as part of a 2-on-2 and RBI effort when she defeated UConn on Feb. 28 started.
She started the season at her shortstop and managed to get her first career success (doubles) during the season opener by posting an 8-0 aggregate and a win in hands on February 21 against Wichita State.
